The Future Tech Fest 2024 FTF in Düsseldorf was a gathering of innovators and industry experts interested in the latest technological developments. This year, iFactory3D had the distinction of being the only startup invited to present at the Wirtschaftsförderung Düsseldorf‘s booth. As a company rooted in the local community, it was an honor for iFactory3D to be invited to showcase its latest developments to an audience of industry peers and tech enthusiasts. To properly mark the occasion, iFactory3D had something super fresh up its sleeve. The event provided the company with a valuable opportunity to showcase its work, engage with others in the industry and gain insights into the wider tech community.
Future Tech Fest 2024: A platform for learning and networking
Future Tech Fest stands for a diverse range of activities, including keynotes, panel discussions and interactive workshops. The 2024 event focused on topics such as sustainability, digital transformation and the future of work and attracted a wide audience from various sectors. The fair offered participants the opportunity to learn about new technologies, discuss industry trends and explore potential collaborations.
For iFactory3D, the event was an excellent opportunity to connect with a wide audience and showcase its contribution to the 3D printing industry. The fact that iFactory3D was the only startup at the Wirtschaftsförderung Düsseldorf booth was a special recognition of their work and gave them the opportunity to connect with other companies and potential partners, as well as welcome special guests.
Presentation of a new 3D printer with a practical design
At the event, iFactory3D presented its latest 3D printer, which attracted interest due to its sophisticated and practical design. One of the outstanding features of this printer is its use of a special type of wood for the exterior construction that is both durable and functional. This wood is not only sturdy – it is in fact bulletproof – but also plays a crucial role in reducing vibrations and absorbing shocks that can otherwise affect the quality of prints.
The printer is equipped with a large display that facilitates direct operation, and its compact size is particularly suitable for the production of products such as extrusion profiles and individual shoe insoles. These features make it a versatile tool for specific niche applications, offering both precision and reliability in the smallest possible footprint.
PodoFactory: streamlining insole production
In addition to the new printer, iFactory3D also presented its latest project, PodoFactory. This initiative aims to simplify the production of custom-made insoles by offering a complete package that includes a 3D printer, software, training and materials. The model works on a pay-per-sole basis, making it accessible to businesses of all sizes, especially those struggling with challenges such as staff shortages.
The PodoFactory printer is designed for continuous operation and has features such as automatic pause and resume printing when filament runs out, as well as the typical continuous print bed, which ensures smooth continuous and automated operation. The insoles produced have a smoother surface than those made with Cartesian printers, and the flexibility of the printer allows for custom sizing to meet a wide range of needs. The fact that the soles require around 80% less material than milled models and offer a high level of easy customization, combined with the convincing quality, give PodoFactory the potential to be a real revolution.
Visit from the mayor of Düsseldorf
A remarkable moment for iFactory3D during the event was the visit of the Mayor of Düsseldorf, Dr. Stephan Keller, at the stand of the business development agency. The CEO of iFactory3D had the opportunity to speak with the Lord Mayor and take a photo together, which was a moment of recognition for the company’s contributions to the local tech scene. The visit underlined the city’s support for local businesses and highlighted the importance of fostering innovation at a municipal level.
